How are you at sharing Information?
Olympic's foundation is in selling ERP solutions. What sets us apart from the crowd is our ability to take ERP further through our Advanced Software Engineering Division - "extending your business reach" is how we like to put it.
Our latest reach extending endeavour is bringing key financial data previously only available behind the doors of your accounts department (unless you're a fan of buying heaps of ERP licenses) to the masses. Right now we are focusing these solutions towards Dynamics GP 2010, but that doesn’t mean their use is limited to this super solution.
Following is a summary from one of our most creative minds, of our thought processes behind engineering these solutions…
“It used to be those who had the most information that won in an organisation. What our solutions offer is front row seats to information that helps streamline (not hinder) business process. Information hoggers, beware! It’s one thing to hoard information for personal ambition; it’s even harder to author it. If anything businesses must enforce the mind-set of hoarding being very naughty, especially in times where staff turn-over rates are up and business process streamlining is necessary in increasingly competitive markets. You can bet most businesses these days are clamping down on administrative red tape if it hinders information flow.
“Our tools increase the flow of that information. OlympicCare, for example, allows Olympic to unobtrusively share key information and documents with our clients both en masse, and more personally through their individual portals so all parties are on the same page and collaborating solutions as one big happy family (here’s a story about a man named Brady... Am I showing my age?). These solutions are flexible and can be tailored to suit specific business process if the one-size-fits all approach is too tight for you.
“If anything, more open ways of communicating, mean individuals can focus on becoming innovative rather than spending countless hours chasing paper (or people) around an office. Where there is so much information available, new ways of sharing that information with less employee up-skill are required. Forget running from in-basket to in-basket, or having to deal with irritable personalities; forget trying to over commit to 101 meetings; forget waiting for IT staff to deploy your data to the shop floor or your online website; forget having to learn 1001 pieces of information. You are not Superman! (As much as some of us would like to be). Forget trying to hoard information because of insecurity – the times are most definitely a changin’ (to quote Bob. Okay now I am showing my age!) It’s far more critical in a rapidly emerging global market to be focusing on innovation to help a business survive. Our tools not only free up information, but help management reward those who are committed to an all-hands-on-deck approach to company survival.
“I don’t know about you but I would rather focus on doing what I love (design) rather than being bogged down in administration, or dealing with office politics! What do you reckon? Are you contributing to helping be part of the solution or part of the problem? Technology is now exposing these problems as well as opening data like never before.
“Misers step aside – you need not apply – your days are numbered. Your work should stand on its own, concentrate on authoring rather than withholding information. These days it’s all hands on deck – we have the tools to help take the “i” out of “team”.”
